Younis is Pakistan's rock
"Pakistan are always capable of throwing in a but it is hard to see how this Canadian team can cause them any more than minor inconvenience..."
Pakistan are looking like potential tournament winners whilst Canada are looking out of their depth. Another one-sided affair is on the cards in Colombo.
London Start Time: 09:00
Venue and Conditions
This will be the third game on the relaid surface at the R Premadasa Stadium. In the opening match here, Pakistan successfully defended 277 and historically, this venue does favour teams batting first in day night games. Thundery showers are forecast.
Team News
Canada will be hoping experienced seamer Henry Osinde is fit to resume his place and they may be considering another reshuffle, in which case young batsman Hiral Patel could get his chance.
Abdur Rehman has strained a leg muscle and will sit this one out, so presumably Saeed Ajmal will be his replacement. Misbah ul-Haq may be rested and Asad Shafiq will come into the middle order.
Match Odds
Pakistan are always capable of throwing in a but it is hard to see how this Canadian team can cause them any more than minor inconvenience, let alone put them under any serious pressure. The Canadian bowling was adequate last time out but they collapsed in a heap against the Zimbabwean spinners and it is unlikely they will fare any better against one of the best bowling attacks in the tournament. You can get [50.0] about a Canadian win, but frankly it doesn't look all that tempting.
Top Batsman
While his teammates nudged and prodded, Rizwan Cheema managed 14 off 9 deliveries last time and he could easily blast a quick 30 or so here, which history suggests should be enough to top score. At [6.5] he represents good value.
Pakistan look full of batting and any of the top seven could make hay against this kind of bowling, but Younis Khan is in good form and is a reliable selection at decent odds of [6.0]
Featured Market
Veteran John Davison has been a great servant to Canadian cricket but he is starting to look his age and it makes sense to side with Ruvindu Gunasekera in the 'Gunasekera v Davison' market at [1.8] or better.
Best Bet:
Rizwan Cheema to top score for Canada at [6.5]
