TQ goes through the alphabet as he looks back at the names that made the headlines in sport last week and those that can do just that this week
A is for Alexandra Palace. The premier event in the Darts calendar gets under way on Monday night. The PDC World Champs has a new venue in the fantastic Ally Pally but will it have a new champion? Barney is 4.7 to retain his title.
B is for Broadway Sizzler. The Sean White trained flyer is favourite for the Oaks on Tuesday night and connections will be hoping that she pings the lids once again and makes all at Wimbledon. Check out all the markets for what is a massive night for Greyhound Racing.
C is for Cottbus. Bundesliga's bottom club recorded an emphatic 5-1 win over high-flying Hannover. That win has given Cottbus renewed hope of avoiding the drop. However, they are still odds on in our league Relegation market.
D is for Drago. Malta's Tony Drago inspired Europe to a surprise win over the USA in the Mosconi Cup. In a highly charged encounter the European underdogs prevailed 11-8. Watch out on site for markets for the next big pool tournament.
E is for Eto'o. Barcelona have certainly missed the goal scoring prowess of Cameroon hit-man Samuel Eto'o when he is injured. He didn't disappoint on Saturday night as he bagged a brace against a hapless Valencia side. That win keeps Barca four points behind Real Madrid in the race for the title. Check out the league Winner market to see who are favourites.
F is for Fabio. He has been appointed as the new England manager so from now until England's first game he will be known as fabulous Fabio. After Mourinho turned the job down he was always favourite and the FA acted swiftly to get their man. Can Capello take them to a World Cup victory? They are currently trading at around 12 in the Winner market.
G is for Gallas. It was a fiery encounter at the Emirates on Sunday and William Gallas' goal ensured that Arsenal came away with all three points. The Gunners remain top of the Premier League and now they can turn their attention to the Carling Cup tie against Blackburn on Tuesday. Check out all the match markets currently available.
H is for Hat-Tricks. An incredible game at the JJB had eight goals, a missed penalty, a sending off and two hat-tricks! It is a rare occurrence to get two in one game and it is Marcus Bent who will be the happier of the two strikers as Wigan recorded a 5-3 win over Blackburn. If you think there will be another hat-trick in Blackburn's game against Arsenal on Tuesday then check out the Hat-Trick scored? market.
I is for Inverness. Celtic once again fell to a shock defeat at the hands of Inverness Caledonian Thistle. 2-0 up and seemingly cruising to victory, super Cally put the Hoops under pressure and stormed back for a 3-2 win. Check out the league Winner market, where Rangers are now favourites for the title.
J is for Juventus. Del Piero was on the mark twice on Saturday as Juventus registered a 3-1 win at Lazio. The three points keeps them in touch with the leaders in Serie A. Eight points isn't an insurmountable lead and Juve are currently 12.5 in the Serie A Winner market.
K is for Kingston. James Kingston finally got over the winning line on the European Tour, with victory in the SAA Open. He held off England's Oliver Wilson coming down the stretch for a much deserved first tour win. Kingston may well win again but I am sure that Oliver Wilson will be a multiple winner on tour, so follow him in the markets early next year when the tour restarts.
L is for Luton Town. Things are looking bleak for Luton as they struggle at the bottom of League One following their points deduction. Players reportedly are not getting paid and the FA has charged them with a variety of irregularities regarding payments. One highlight in a bad time is a 2nd round FA Cup win over Forest that has rewarded them with a glamour tie at home to Liverpool. Desperately in need of the money from a cup run they will be going all out for an upset. Watch out for the match markets.
M is for Maldini. AC Milan captain Paulo Maldini has announced he will retire at the end of the season. He is one of the most coveted players of all time and added to his list of honours at the weekend as Milan won the World Club Trophy, beating Boca Juniors 4-2 in the final. It's back to the league this weekend for Maldini and co, check out the markets for their clash against arch rivals Inter.
N is for Nine out of Nine. Manchester City cannot stop winning at home and a resounding 4-2 victory over Bolton at the weekend stretched that record to an amazing nine home wins. They are at home again in the Carling Cup on Tuesday against Spurs. Check out all the match markets where City are currently 2.5 in the Match Odds.
O is for Olympiacos. The top two in the Greek National Liga clashed on Sunday evening and it was Olympiacos who came out on top with a hard fought 1-0 win over AEK. Those valuable three points have nudged Olympiacos into slight favourites to win the league.
P is for Ponting. Ricky Ponting was the inspiration behind Australia's win over New Zealand in their first ODI. He smashed 107 off 108 balls as the Aussies reached their target of 255 with plenty of overs to spare. Markets are currently up and treading for the third ODI on Wednesday.
Q is for Quaresma. Ricardo Quaresma finally found a bit of form as Porto overcame Besiktas in a must win Champions League encounter. That victory ensured they won their group and they will fancy their chances against anyone in the knockout stages. They are 55 in the Winner market, where Barcelona are the market leaders.
R is for Red Wings. A 5-2 win over the Florida Panthers ensured that Detroit Red Wings kept up their impressive form in this years NHL. They are the hottest team in the Western Conference and you can expect them to be right in the mix come Stanley Cup Final time. Check out the Winner market for all the latest prices.
S is for Saracens. It was a tale of two halves in the Heineken Cup clash between Viadana and Saracens. The Sarries trailed 26-3 at half-time before producing a storming second half to come back and win 34-26. In a competitive outright Winner market Saracens are currently trading at 14.
T is for Tevez. Carlos Tevez struck a hammer blow into Liverpool's title hopes whilst keeping United just one point behind leaders Arsenal. It is an enthralling title race and an equally exciting market. United are currently trading 2.02 to retain their title.
U is for UK Champion. Ronnie O'Sullivan is the new UK Champion after a comfortable 10-2 win over Stephen Maguire in the final. Keeping control of his emotions, Ronnie was always on top and finally secured a ranking event victory. He will be hoping he can add the World Champs to it next year. Check out the Winner market where Ronnie is currently priced at around 4.
V is for Villarreal. A solid 3-1 at Getafe saw Villarreal keep their title hopes alive at the weekend. If the top two teams slip-up then Villarreal are handily placed to take advantage. If you don't fancy they can win the title then it is certainly worth looking at them in the Top 3 Finish market at current odds of 2.9.
W is for Woods. Tiger may have taken some time off to spend with his family but there was no evidence of rustiness as he recorded a seven shot win over Zach Johnson in the Target Challenge. The great man is clearly in full control of his game and looks unstoppable. If you think 2008 will continue in the same way then check out the market for the US Masters.
X is for X-Rated. It really wasn't Stuttgart's day as they lost 2-0 to Arminia Bielefeld, had 5 players booked and two sent-off! After also bowing out of the Champions League in the group stages it is probably a good think that the Bundesliga is now on a 6 week winter break. On this form Stuttgart are worth opposing in the Top 3 Finish market for the Bundesliga.
Y is for Yards. Brett Favre broke yet another record in the NFL on Sunday as he threw for 227 yards to surpass Dan Marino as the NFL's all-time leader in yards passing. You can be sure that the next achievement on Favre's mind will be to take the Packers to Superbowl glory. They are currently trading at 15.5 in the outright Winner market.
Z is for Zzzzz. Ski Jumping is an entertaining sport with plenty of thrills and spills but at the moment a certain Thomas Morgenstern is turning it into a precession. He has just become the first man ever to win the first 5 competitions of the ski jumping season. Can he make it six from six this weekend in Switzerland? Check out our Winner market for all the prices.
