Gary Anderson has a reputation for freezing on the big stage but he does boast a good record in the Grand Slam of darts.
"He has a tournament average of 98.46, has hit nine 180’s, won each of his group stage matches by a comfortable 5-2 score line, and looks altogether at ease in front of the Wolverhampton crowd."
Jaymes Monte turns his attentions away from the match betting markets and towards the winner market where the supremely gifted Gary Anderson looks an attractive bet, or at least a good trade.
Gary Anderson is darts' perennial underachiever, forever touted as the most naturally gifted player in the game yet regularly freezing on the big stage. However, the Grand Slam of Darts appears to have offered a little respite from that accolade; he has made it to the semi-finals of the tournament in both 2007 and 2008.
So far this year he has continued to demonstrate his fondness for the Grand Slam. He has a tournament average of 98.46, has hit nine 180's, won each of his group stage matches by a comfortable 5-2 score line, and looks altogether at ease in front of the Wolverhampton crowd.
He is on the opposite side of the draw to Phil Taylor, Tony O'Shea and Raymond van Barneveld and with James Wade and Terry Jenkins also facing each other tonight this side of the draw could become wide open for the Scot. Anderson is available at [10.0] in the outright market and although it is always difficult to recommended anyone else in a tournament which involves Taylor, I'm confident in seeing this price go much shorter and possibly having a free bet come Sunday evening's final.
