Petra Kvitova has looked fully focussed on her task of winning her maiden Grand Slam

"Kvitova has been playing some of the best tennis this fortnight on the women’s side and she’s had the better of today’s opponent in their last two meetings, which the Czech player won in straight sets."

Maria Sharapova looks a little short in the betting against Sabine Lisicki but the better bet from today's action is to back Petra Kvitova to get the better of compulsive shieker Victoria Azarenka, says Sean Calvert.

My winning tipping streak continued on Wednesday with another best bet proving successful - this time Andy Murray's straight sets win over Feliciano Lopez.

Thursday at the All England Club is women's semi finals day and both matches look well worth watching, with competitive encounters expected in each.

Maria Sharapova is clear favourite to claim her second Wimbledon title at around [2.3], but she hasn't made a Grand Slam final since 2008 and I wouldn't fancy her at [1.4] to defeat Sabine Lisicki today.

The only thing stopping me from advising a bet on the German at around [3.4] in that one is the likelihood that she might be running out of gas a little, but Lisicki has every chance of sending the Russian and her intensely annoying shriek back home.

Speaking of shrieks, it would be a total nightmare for all concerned if Azarenka and Sharapova were in the final - in fact I wouldn't be able to watch it, such would be the noise level created by the pair.

But today's best bet should put a stop to that scenario, as I fancy Petra Kvitova to take care of Azarenka at around [1.8].

Kvitova has been playing some of the best tennis this fortnight on the women's side and she's had the better of today's opponent in their last two meetings, which the Czech player won in straight sets.

One of those meetings was here at Wimbledon last year when Kvitova won 7-5, 6-0 and she went on to reach the semi finals that year, the experience of which will stand her in good stead today.

Azarenka is into a Slam semi final for the first time and I can't say I've been overly impressed with her again in this tournament.

The Belarusian tends to hammer lower ranked opponents, but flatters to deceive against the big guns and she's only been made to work once this fortnight - against Daniela Hantuchova.

Vika was fortunate to come away with the win that day, as it was a pretty even match and the rain break really helped her. But I think Kvitova has just a bit more in her locker and I expect her to take advantage of Azarenka's nerves and claim her place in Saturday's final.

Recommended bet:

Back Kvitova to beat Azarenka at [1.8]
