Sheer joy - Tsonga is majestic after beating Federer
"The likeable Frenchman is now [9.6] in the tournament winner market, having traded at [400.00] when 2-0 down."
Former-champion is out after French player powers his way back into the match from two sets down to book semi-final date with Djokovic.
Roger Federer has crashed out of Wimbledon, despite trading at [1.01] to beat Jo-Wilfried Tsonga after taking a two set lead.
Over £38,000 was matched on the former-champion at minimum odds before Tsonga, who was backed at [65.0], played his way back into contention and then roared to victory in three sublime sets. The likeable Frenchman is now [9.6] in the tournament winner market, having traded at [400.00] when 2-0 down.
Federer looked very comfortable at the start, going a break up in only the second game. He took the set 6-3 and, although he had to win a tie-break to claim the second, it looked certain that he was going through into the semi-finals.
And then came the French resistance as Tsonga suddenly recovered his composure and began to knock acute shots all over the court, emulating the performances he gave to reach the final at Queens three weeks ago. Federer offered no response, he couldn't raise his game and, when Tsonga went a break up in the fourth set, it seemed almost inevitable to that he was going to win.
The real hammer-blow came in the opening game of the fifth when Tsonga achieved a break. After that he was prepared to let the Swiss win his services games; he'd done the ferocious stuff while fighting for his life in the third, turning the tide in the fourth and now the fifth was all about controlling the game to close out an excellent win.
Tsonga may well be exhausted after this epic battle but he left the court with a spring in his step and will go into his semi-final against Novak Djokovic - who beat Bernard Tomic in four sets - believing that he can go all the way.

There is an old man who sits in the players box everyday, all day. He wears a striped tie and a black hat with an emblem on the front. He has sat there for years - who is he?
