Maria Sharapova is full of joy after the win
"Sharapova is the [1.56] favourite for Saturday's final, Kvitova the [2.78] outsider."
It's Russia v Czech Republic in Saturday's ladies final at Wimbledon after Sharapova and Kvitova come through semi-final tests
Maria Sharapova will go off the [1.56] favourite to be ladies champion at Wimbledon for the second time after coming through unscathed in her semi-final against Sabine Lisicki today.
Her opponent will be Petra Kvitova, the eighth seed from the Czech Republic who out-muscled Victoria Azarenka in the day's other final four battle.
Sharapova, champion in 2004, suffered a first set scare when finding herself 3-0 down to her German opponent. But after a strong rally, the Russian put on the afterburners to take the match 6-4, 6-3.
It was more topsy-turvy in the other semi where Kvitova lost her way in the middle set before finishing off fourth seed Azarenka to advance one stage further than 2010, when she was beaten by Serena Williams at the semi-final stage.
Kvitova is the [2.78] outsider to win Saturday's final.
