After today witnessed one of the greatest contests in Australian Open history, what can we expect from the women's final? For Ben Caudell, there is only one winner.
Rafael Nadal v Fernando Verdasco will go down in history as one of the best matches ever played at the Australian Open. Both players executed amazing winners from every angle of the court. Their shot selections were some of the best I have ever seen and with both players playing to the best of their capabilities, it was hard to predict who was going to walk home with the knowledge that they will be playing Roger Federer in the final. If you didn't know, the match eventually finished after a 5 ½ hour slog, with Nadal the winner 6-7, 6-4, 7-6,6-7,6-4.
Dinara Safina v Serena Williams
Serena has won every match against Safina on hard-court. Their last two meetings were in straight sets and I can't see this one being any different, especially with the experience the American has gained from previous Grand Slam Events. Serena is 9-3 in Grand Slam finals and 3-0 in Australian Open finals. Only one winner for me
