After a good couple of days' betting, Ben Caudell is back to guide us through the best opportunities on day seven, including a win for Roddick over Robredo.
Another good day for our bets with Fernando Verdasco annihilating Radek Stepanek in straight sets 6-4 6-0 6-0. Verdasco is in the best form of his life at the moment and will be an extremely hard prospect to beat in any round of any tournament in 2009. Since his Davis Cup win over Argentina, the Spaniard has been simply outstanding at the back of the court, he has managed to decrease the amount of unforced errors and increase the amount of winners he hits.
Against Radek Stepanek, Verdasco hit 34 winners and only 15 unforced errors, Stepanek hit 23 winners and 39 unforced errors. Andrew Murray awaits the left hander in the next round and this won't be an easy match for the young Scot, who is yet to drop a set.
Richard Gasquet unfortunately lost yesterday in a five set thriller after taking the first two sets and having a match point in the third set. Although we lost the bet, there would have been ample opportunities to trade out of the [2.3] we backed him at to win the match.
Our other bets were Gael Monfils to win his match 3-1, he won it 3-0, and for Victoria Azerenka to win 2-0 against Amelie Mauresmo, which she did - 6-4 6-2.
Today's selections
Andy Roddick v Tommy Robredo:
Roddick has an unbelievable 9-0 head-to-head over the Spaniard, in the process only losing one set out of twenty three. Tommy Robredo put in a good performance in the last round against Yen-Hsun Lu and is still to drop a set in the Australian Open. Expect this to be a straight forward win for the A-Rod
Selection: Back Andy Roddick to in match @ [1.3]
Back Roddick to win 3-0 small bet @ [ 2.4]
Marcos Baghdatis v Novak Djokovic:
Novak has a 2-0 head-to-head over Baghdatis with the most recent win at the All England Club in 2007. This match went to five sets and over sixty games were played. I can see this match being no different with both players having some of the rowdiest supporters around. The support from the Greek and Cypriot fans has spurned Marcos into his old self and he now has the confidence to beat anyone that lies in his way.
Selection: Lay Novak Djokovic 3-0 @ 3.1
Back over 38.5 Games @ approx 1.95
