Lulu's always been a stayer - sadly she was a singer not a horse...
14:05 Southwell - LAY - Pinewood Lulu (Forecast 2.2)
Today's race is the 14:05 at Southwell, its a class 6 maiden over 6 furlongs. Pinewood Lulu is forecast favourite, trained by R C Guest and ridden by Duran Fentiman.
Pinewood Lulu is an absolute shocker of a racehorse, she was 5th on her debut over Leicester's stiff 7 furlongs, before running below that form on her 2nd start when dropped in trip over Pontefract's stiff 6 furlongs.
Today's race over Southwells easy 6 furlongs will not suit her - she will not have the pace to get involved and is likely to need a mile plus before she can even consider winning a race. The useless filly gets a handicap mark after today's race and is highly unlikely to be winning today.
Richard Guest has had 47 runners in flat maidens since 2006, all 47 have been beaten and I'm not expecting that record to improve here. If that statistic hasn't convinced you to lay the wretch then try this one - Richard Guest has never had a 2yo or 3yo winner on any A/W surface and tends to use his trips to the A/W track to get his horses handicapped for the future (ie: they generally lose).
It's a tough race to call the winner but easy for me to call the loser and that loser will hopefully be my lay of the atrocious one-paced filly 'Pinewood Lulu'. If the early forecast price of [2.2] is available then I will be doubling my stakes for this outstanding lay.
