Despite being out of action for over a month, jockey Paul Carberry has been booked to partner ante-post favourite Dun Doire in the Johns Smith's Grand National at Aintree on April 14.

The eight-year-old's trainer Tony Martin confirmed the news, telling reporters: "I've asked Paul to ride Dun Doire once he is fully fit, and he has accepted the mount.

"He knows the horse well and won the Thyestes Chase on him last season."

Carberry, who won the 1999 Grand National on another Irish-trained horse Bobbyjo, has been out of action since sustaining a foot injury on February 25 but is expected to return to the saddle in good time to be fit enough to offer every assistance from the saddle.

Dun Doire currently heads Betfair's ante-post market for the world's greatest steeplechase and trades at 12.5, marginally ahead of fellow Irish challengers Point Barrow (13) and last year's hero Numbersixvalverde (14.5).
The 2006 runner-up Hedgehunter is offered to back at 17.5, whilst highest placed of the British entries is Simon, available at 18.5.
