Betfair antepost backers of Hedgehunter for next weekend's John Smith's Grand National
will be delighted to hear that trainer Willie Mullins has delivered an upbeat bulletin on his 11-year-old's chances for the Aintree showpiece.
The veteran won the four-and-a-half mile marathon in 2005 and also finished second
last year to Numbersixvalverde, but has had his preparations hit by injury this term.
Hedgehunter, who is currently trading at 18.5 for the National, has come out of his prep run over hurdles last week well, and is hoping to give the County Carlow handler more success in the race.
"Hedgehunter did a nice bit of work this morning and I'm very pleased with him," said Mullins.
"There's a chance he might do a small bit on Tuesday morning. I could have quite a few
runners in the National now as I think Joueur d'Estruval has a chance of getting in."
Irish horses dominate the Betfair market for the Liverpool event, with Point Barrow (12)
and Dun Doire (12.5) vying for favouritism, ahead of Numbersixvalverde (15) and Joe's Edge (15.5).
