Defeat to Kilmarnock won't sour Celtic's trip to Ibrox
"A beleaguered Rangers side have lost three of four SPL fixtures since incurring a ten-point penalty for entering administration."
Celtic's shock cup defeat blew their treble ambitions out of the water, but an Old Firm win on Sunday will soften the blow...
Rangers v Celtic, Sunday 13:00, Sky Sports 1, Match odds: Rangers [3.8], Celtic [2.06], The Draw [3.75]
You might think Rangers have suffered enough for one season, but should Motherwell fail to win at Kilmarnock, they could face the ultimate indignity of seeing Celtic crowned SPL champions at Ibrox.
Neil Lennon's side will have to win for that to happen, but on current form that hardly looks beyond them. A beleaguered Rangers side have lost three of four SPL fixtures since incurring a ten-point penalty for entering administration.
And it's a similarly desperate story at Ibrox, where the Gers have lost each of their previous three fixtures.
Celtic meanwhile might be reeling from Killie's late show in the cup, but don't bank on a hangover. Prior to a 1-1 draw at Aberdeen in their most recent SPL outing, Celtic had won 14 successive matches in all competitions.
As it stands, the Bhoys are 21 points clear of both Rangers and Motherwell with only eight games to play. Even if Motherwell succeed in delaying their celebrations, it is inevitably just a matter of time before they secure their first league title since 2008.
Celtic to win to nil
Celtic have kept seven clean sheets in their last nine fixtures and haven't conceded more than a single goal in a match since a 3-3 draw at Kilmarnock in October last year. Ally McCoist's men however have scored just once in their last three outings at Ibrox and lost 1-0 in the most recent Old Firm clash.
Five of Rangers' previous six SPL clashes have contained over 2.5 goals, three of which saw four or more goals scored. As for the visitors, six of Celtic's last nine domestic fixtures on their travels produced at least three goals, while three of these encounters contained four or more. On that basis, it's worth backing over 2.5 at [2.08].
Best Bet: Celtic to win @ [2.06]
Other Recommended Bet: Celtic to win to nil @ [3.7]
