Rangers' difficulties have led to an enhanced role for David Healy of late
"Inverness’ last nine matches in all competitions have produced two goals or fewer."
Michael Lintorn expects a low-scoring game when Inverness welcome Rangers on Sunday, and wouldn't be surprised if the hosts claim a point or three...
This writer's prediction that Rangers would come out fighting after one of the most testing weeks in their history didn't come to pass last weekend. Instead, they fell to their first home league loss of the campaign against previously unimpressive Kilmarnock.
Killie met Dundee United at Tannadice three days later and were thumped 4-0, indicating that Rangers' deserved defeat owed plenty to their own shortcomings, and it certainly doesn't bode for a trip to face an Inverness CT side on their best run of the season.
The champions, who were flawless on their SPL travels until late November, since when they have suffered three reverses in six, are therefore potential lay material at [1.76], especially as Inverness have lost just one of their last seven SPL games, and that at Celtic.
The two clubs have collided on six occasions over the last three years - four of those clashes coming at Ibrox - and yet Rangers have only triumphed in half.
Dispirited Gers players, staff and fans won't enjoy being last up this weekend either, as all outcomes of Saturday's first-versus-third encounter between Celtic and Motherwell will jar. If the leaders win, the gap at the top will inflate to 23 points, while if the visitors pull off a shock, they will go level with Ally McCoist's men.
Of course, with Rangers in the unusual position of being superior to all bar one SPL adversary but possibly lacking the motivation or incentive to prove it, you may decide to swerve the result market, and if so under 2.5 goals is a viable alternative or supplementary option at [2.26].
Inverness' last nine matches in all competitions have produced two goals or fewer in 90 minutes, and former Rangers captain Terry Butcher's team have conceded only twice in their last five fixtures, while five of their last six showdowns with the cash-strapped giants have adhered to that trend.
Best Bet: Back under 2.5 goals @ [2.26]
Other Recommended Bet: Lay Rangers @ [1.76]
