City won at Villa Park as Wolves were humilated at home by West Brom to put Mick McCarthy's men in deep trouble.
Manchester City proved critics wrong by putting in a professional display away from home after a series of poor performances away from the Etihad. It lacked the glamour of early season wins but their 1-0 victory over Aston Villa will be seen as a major step towards the Premier League title. It was an unlikely man who got the winner, Joleon Lescott scoring from a corner after he had been backed at [44.0] to be first scorer. City were matched at [2.38] before his strike and at [2.64] to keep a clan sheet. They're [1.72] to win their first-ever Premier League title with rivals United trading at [2.7].
Wolves and West Brom produced a goal-fest in the early kick-off but it was the visitors who did most of the scoring, thrashing Mick McCarthy's men 5-1 to put them deep into trouble relegation trouble. The Baggies drifted to [3.9] with the match tied at 1-1 in the second-half but went on to score four unanswered goals. Peter Odemwingie, who had scored the first, grabbed two of those and in the process completed a hat-trick, something he was backed at odds of [90.0] to do. Jonas Olsson was another of the goalscorers, the defender backed at [16.0] to score at anytime. Wolves are [1.72] to go down.
