The "Total Goals Guys" look to rebuild after last week's disaster

Going for two goals in each of our 5 picks proved costly last so it might come as a surprise to find that this is exactly what are doing again this week. The balance is at it's lowest since we embarked on this season long journey and we need to get it moving in the right direction again.

Ibrox is as good a place as any to get us going again this weekend. Saturday's visitors are 3rd placed Hibernian, a side who have recently defeated Celtic and who are averaging 2 goals per game from their last 6 outings. Goals are a bit thin on away trips for the Edinburgh side however and we will be relying on the Gers to continue on their home goal tally this term of 16 goals from 4 home SPL ties. We expect Rangers to rest one or two after Tuesday night's heroics in Lyon but with Naysmith and Boyd being the probable replacements we're happy with the 1.23 available here.

Wigan travel to Old Trafford in what is a lunch time kick off this Saturday. The visitors sit a respectable 12th in the table, a position that is down to their home form as The Latics have shipped 6 goals in 4 away ties this season returning a solitary point. Manchester United have not been their free flowing selves this season, they are not playing well but are winning games. Rooney and Ronaldo have another game under their belts since returning however and although Utd are experiencing somewhat of a goal drought they averaged 2.5 goals per home game last term and a burst of goals could be just around the corner to readdress the balance here. 1.24 is the price here for 2 goals or more.

The same bet looks a shoe in at The Emirates on Sunday where Sunderland pay a visit. The Gunners have notched 11 goals in 4 home ties this season with goals coming from all over the pitch. Sunderland have shipped an average of 2 goals per game on the road since returning to the Premiership and when you consider only 2 of Arsenal's 23 home games in their new ground have finished with less than 2 goals you would be expecting a price of around 1.1 so get on the 1.23 here fast.

Both the form book and the stats point in the direction of at least 2 goals in Madrid on Sunday where Recreativo Huelva visit the Primera Division leaders. Real's new signings have hit the ground running and the team is in fine goal scoring form, particularly at home where so far this season an average of over 2 goals per game have been going in for the home side this season. Based on the last two season's results you would expect the price for 2 goals or more to be around 1.2. When you consider 1.25 is available and side that with the fact Sunday's visitors have found the net in each of their 3 away ties this season, including a 4-1 defeat in Seville, then the offer looks decent.

Finally we look to Barca for a boost in our betting bank. They host Atletico Madrid on Sunday in a fixture that often springs a surprise or two. Barcelona have only recorded a single victory over Atletico in their previous 6 league meetings, that win coming in a 6-0 away drubbing they handed out in June earlier this year. There is a recent history of goals in this pairing with at least two being scored in all 6 of the previously mentioned ties. Both these sides have been amongst the goals this season already and with similar historical home stats as Real Madrid our money says the goal scoring spree will continue on Sunday. 1.27 is the price here for 2 goals or more.
