Total Goals Guys

Goals at the Emirates would be a good start to this weekend's betting

The "Total Goals Guys" talk us through their weekend betting

We are currently sitting on a betting bank of £129.83 and, like last weekend, we are keen to safeguard a good portion of this from exposure. So again we will be keeping 40% of our balance (£51.93) to one side.

Of the sides we keep tabs on every week only Real Madrid and Celtic were exempt from European action during the week so we will have to tread carefully in the total goals market this weekend. Even the top sides who don't suffer a euro hangover in terms of the match odds never tend to thrash even the weakest of opponents.

Arsenal host Liverpool at the Emirates again this Saturday in the second part of an enthralling trilogy. Wednesday night's Champions League Quarter Final 1st Leg ended 1-1 and we reckon the sides can go one better and deliver three goals or more this time. Last week's comeback at Bolton was evidence enough that The Gunners haven't given up on the title and despite Liverpool's win in the Merseyside derby last Sunday, Everton are still in wait should an opportunity to nick the fourth Champions League place arise. So the game is meaningful but both sides showed on Wed that they can be dodgy at the back and goal backers will surely be lumping on the [2.45] on offer for three goals or more. It is also worth noting that in their last 6 Premier League meetings, the sides have shared a total of 18 goals.

Chelsea travel to Manchester City this Saturday and we are backing 2 goals or more in this one at [1.46]. There has only been a single goal in this tie in each of the last 4 years with Chelsea winning on three occasions. There is a different look to both sides this term and that could have a bearing on the number of goals we see. After 16 games Eastlands averages 2.31 goals per game this season and this is identical to Chelsea's away record after the same number of games on the road. The price is generous therefore and surely reflects on the recent history in this fixture.

Saturday's Primera Division clash between 9th placed Mallorca and league leaders Real Madrid has the potential to deliver a few goals. Both sides are scoring freely whilst failing to keep clean sheets and we like the look of [1.87] for 3 goals or more.

The visitors' lead at the top of the table is a slender 6 points and with 8 games remaining they will be keen to avoid any further slip ups. The host's average 1.7 goals per home game this season however and with three wins from their last four outings they will have the confidence to take the game to their guests. There has been at least three goals in three of either sides' last four matches and this run of form looks set to continue.

We strongly fancy a lay of four goals or more in Bayern Munich's home tie with Bochum on Sunday at [2.73]. The league leaders were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Getafe in the Uefa Cup on Thursday and despite remaining favourites to lift the trophy at [3.75] they might have a struggle on their hands to make the last four. This will have taken it out of them a little and it's difficult to see Sundays match being awash with goals. Bayern home matches average 2.16 goals per game and with 11th placed Bochum managing just 11 goals from 13 away fixtures it all points to a low scoring encounter.

15% of the balance (£19.47) is being risked on each of our four selections.
