Total Goals Guys
Goals at Old Trafford and Huelva would be good...
The Total Goals Guys talk us through their weekend selections but where are they expecting goals?
In short, there's simply too many games we don't fancy this weekend. Rangers face Partick Thistle in the Scottish Cup on Sunday, Bayern Munich were taken to extra-time in Getafe on Thursday night and with Arsenal visiting Old Trafford on Sunday, we are restricted slightly.
The action, where we are concerned, won't kick-off until 9pm on Saturday when Barcelona take to the field at Recreativo Huelva. It's always nice to get off to good start and three goals or more at [1.98] would certainly deliver this. The home support haven't seen a huge number of goals this season with 18th placed Huelva scoring 19 goals in 15 games, conceding 20 in the process.
Barca simply have to win as three points still gives Real Madrid a 4 point gap ahead of their fixture with 2nd bottom Murcia on Sunday night. It's not as simple as that however, as the hosts are only three points clear of relegation and its that time of the season when sides in their position start winning. Season long stats suggest their will be at least two in this one but the predicament either side are in suggests there could be at least one more.
Arsene Wenger admitted to BBC Sport that his sides' Premier League title hopes will be over unless they beat Manchester United on Sunday. With Chelsea still in the mix few would disagree with this and we are backing two goals or more in the Old Trafford clash at [1.42]. It's win or bust for The Gunners and that should definatley help open things up slightly and Manchester United will also be going for the win having dropped 2 points on the road at Middlesboro last Sunday.
The sides shared four goals in the reverse of this fixture back in October and there have been a total of 16 in their last 6 Premier League meetings. If United take the lead then expect Arsenal to go all out, really opening it up, and, likewise, if the visitors open the scoring, don't expect the hosts to allow one of their fiercest title rivals leave Old Trafford with all three points.
Matters will be concluded for this weekend with a lay of 4 goals or more in Real Madrid's home fixture with 19th placed Murcia. With 7 games remaining the visitors lie four points adrift of Primera Division safety and when you consider they are priced up at [15.5] in the match odds and Real Madrid odds on to keep a clean sheet at [1.89], four goal backers are relying heavily on the hosts here.
The leaders are struggling somewhat in that respect at present and the obvious reason for this has the recent absence of Ruud Van Nistelrooy. With the dutchman still out through an ankle injury, its difficult to see a vastly huge improvement from a side who have only scored six times in their last four matches. We also may see a more dogged display from a side who are running out of games in their fight for survival. Four goals or more can be laid at [2.76] in the total goals market.
