Ben's Banter: Rotherham's Kevin Ellison
Ben Herd

A poor match by all accounts for the neutrals at th weekend but a first clean sheet of the season for Aldershot, which made Ben Herd pretty happy. After the match he sat down with Kevin Ellison for the usual banter...
It was Rotherham away for us this week at the Don Valley Stadium. After a bright opening half, where we had a couple of half chances, the game went a bit scrappy later on. However a point away to "The Millers" is not a bad result and it was also our first clean sheet of the season which is always pleasing for a defender. This week my opposition player is Kevin Ellison. I have played against Kev a number of times now and he has got to be the chattiest scouser I have come across! In fairness, he's a nice bloke apart from when he's trying to kick me!
So Kev, what did you think of today's game?
It was the worse game I think I have played in; that's because I was playing against you Herdy! There was just nothing in the game, no real clear cut chances for both teams and the game just got really scrappy.
Ronnie Moore took over the reigns from Mark Robins earlier in the season, how has he put his stamp on the club?
We were absolutely flying under Robins, so when the new manager came in nothing was really broke for him to fix. He has changed a couple of players around which is perfectly normal for any new manager to do, but that's about it.
Do you harbor any regrets about your career so far?
Yes, my time with Leicester City in the Premier League. I was working as a delivery driver and playing part-time football for Altrincham when I got my move to Leicester. I thought I had made it basically and my mindset was still in non-league. I was going out on Friday nights with my Missus and then Saturday nights with the lads and then playing reserve team football on the Monday. In many ways it all came too soon for me. These days I don't even have a drink for over a week before a game. I wish I had the mindset I have now when I was with "The Foxes". My career may have turned out differently.
Career after football?
As I mentioned before, I was a delivery man in my younger days and I quite like the thought of me being a postman, especially if they are always on strike! A few of the lads and I are currently doing a PFA backed course at college in sampling all kind of trades such as bricklaying and plumbing to see if we want to pursue them some day.
Finally, are there good young players coming through at Rotherham ?
Nicky Law, he is on loan with us at the minute. He can play wide left or central midfield and has a really good chance of playing at a higher level. Also, he is the only white man I have seen with an afro!
