NFL Betting: The Giants will stomp all over Twickenham

Eli Manning is set to lead the Giants into London
Eli Manning is set to lead the Giants into London

The NFL is back in London, this time at Twickenham, and our Neil Monnery thinks Eli Manning and the Giants will put on a show for the UK fans...

"For the Rams to win this game they have to be lock down on defense. They cannot match-up with Eli Manning and the Giants in terms of scoring points if it is a slug fest. My issue is I think the Giants are ready to throw it all over the field and I'm looking hard at those Giants receiving prop lines."

Overview

The NFL comes to the Home of Rugby Union for the first time and it brings ne of the most dynamic and exciting players currently plying their trade in the sport. Odell Beckham Jr. is the kind of athlete who can transcend sport but in recent weeks, his performances have belied his talent level. That all changed last Sunday when he went for 222 yards receiving and two scores on eight receptions.

The Giants have talent. Opposite Beckham is Victor Cruz who many see as the best #2 WR in the league and rookie Sterling Shepard already has a 100 yard game this season. So Eli Manning can't grumble about having people to throw to. He doesn't have a running game to rely on, however (no offense to Shane Vereen but if he's your primary option in the backfield, you have issues).

The Rams are led by a QB who many expected would be the backup by now in Case Keenum. With #1 overall draft pick Jared Goff still not deemed as ready, the former Houston QB has helped lead his team to a surprising 3-2 record. The 9-3 grind-out victory over the Seahawks goes down as one of the biggest surprises of the season so far but wins over Tampa Bay and Arizona don't gain much respect.

In terms of skill players, Kenny Britt keeps making plays but surprisingly Todd Gurley has yet to register a 100 yard game this season. For one of the better running backs in the league, this is pretty disappointing.

For the Rams to win this game they have to be lock down on defense. They cannot match-up with Manning and the Giants in terms of pointscoring if it is a slug fest. My issue is I think the Giants are ready to throw it all over the field and I'm looking hard at those Giants receiving prop lines.

First Touchdown Scorer

Victor Cruz hasn't caught a touchdown pass since the opening game and that is stunning. As one of the best #2 receivers in the game, you expect more and he is surely due. His recent form has seen him drift to 13/1 in this market on the Sportsbook and I like those odds. Kenny Britt hasn't caught one this season but 23 receptions in five games, soon one of them will be in the end zone. He's at 12s.

Over/Under

The line has been set at 44.5pts and recent London games have tended to be high scoring affairs. With the explosiveness of the Giants offense when they get going, you can always lean on the overs but I've come a cropper the two times I've done that with NY this season. So I'm taking the unders because I've been burned but I'm only playing a point.

The Spread & Straight-up Pick

The spread is set at New York -2.5pts and I think that is very generous. I quite simply do not believe in the Rams. I think the Giants are streaky but I like them to win big here and I'd take the extended -8.5pt line at 11/4 because I like to roll the dice.
