NFL Tipping Sheet: Week Nine Previews and Moneyline Picks

The Panthers will pounce on the Falcons...

Entering the second half of the season, the NFL is heating up and the pressure rises, Reuben Thomas takes a sneak peak at each of the games from week nine...

'An NFC South battle as Carolina go in hunt of their fourth straight victory, Cam Newton is starting to earn that ‘Superman’ knick name, he‘s finding room to run again.'

Atlanta Falcons @ Carolina Panthers
Sunday 18:00

An NFC South battle as Carolina go in hunt of their fourth straight victory, Cam Newton is starting to earn that 'Superman' knick name, he's finding room to run again. Bad matchup for Atlanta as their failing front line faces an angry Panthers defensive line and Matt Ryan despite his talent will find it hard without his first two targets.
Recommended Bet: Panthers @ 1.3130/100

Kansas City Chiefs @ Buffalo Bills
Sunday 18:00

Kansas continue to roll, 8-0 but still NFL fans fail to believe, the Chiefs are still to be tested by a team that has a winning record and until they do they won't be rated as highly as their record, in two weeks they face Denver, then we'll know. The Bills are tough to beat in Buffalo and have a good history against Kansas but must rely on a backup QB this week. There won't be a lot of points scored and Kansas may have to rely on their D but they should prevail yet again.
Recommended Bet: Chiefs @ 1.548/15

Minnesota Vikings @ Dallas Cowboys
Sunday 18:00

Dallas' powerhouse offence should have it easy against a Minnesota pass defence that seems to find holes in itself. The Vikings too should be able to move the ball as the Cowboys showed last week just how beatable their defence can be, much to the annoyance of Dez Bryant. Adrian Peterson should get back to business, he's due a big game but Romo and his receivers will end up on top and move to a winning record.
Recommended Bet: Cowboys @ 1.222/9

New Orleans Saints @ NY Jets
Sunday 18:00

Drew Brees and the 6-1 Saints travel to the MetLife to take on the unpredictable Jets. Geno Smith seems to blow hot and cold but even if he's having a good week he'll find it tough against a vastly improved Saints defence. New Orleans have for years been able to consistently produce with the ball but they seem to have the whole package this season. Expect Graham and Sproles to cause mayhem and the Jets won't be able to keep up.
Recommended Bet: Saints @ 1.392/5

San Diego Chargers @ Washington Redskins
Sunday 18:00

The Chargers head to the East Coast full of confidence, Philip Rivers is playing at his maximum and making things happen and he should have a lot of opportunities against a pathetic Washington defence. RG3 will have to be at his most creative and elusive if he is to avoid another week of punishment, how long can he handle the hits?
Recommended Bet: Chargers @ 1.9110/11

Tennessee Titans @ St Louis Rams
Sunday 18:00

Jeff Fisher heads back to his old stomping ground as the Rams face the Titans. The Rams are still reeling from the loss of Bradford but their defence and running game are picking up the mantle. The Titans are keen to avoid their third straight loss and they've had over twice the rest time compared to St Louis since their last game, time for Jake Locker to take his chance and turn the Titans around.
Recommended Bet: Titans 1.768/11

Philadelphia Eagles @ Oakland Raiders
Sunday 21:05

The Chip Kelly buzz has fizzed out and the Eagles are wobbling. No Vick again so Nick Foles will get the start on Sunday, his form seems to fluctuate horribly so mustn't be relied on, much will be expected of LeSean McCoy who has found space hard to find recently. The Raiders look to go back to .500 and with Pryor and McFadden there rushing attack looks pretty healthy, it has to be because their passing game hasn't arrived yet.
Recommended Bet: Eagles @ 2.265/4

Tampa Bay Buccaneers @ Seattle Seahawks
Sunday 21:05

The Seahawks at 7-1 come home and look forward to proving a point against the winless Bucs. However good this Seattle team has been they are still failing to convince on offence, maybe they don't have to. But this should be the game that they get a chance to let Wilson throw, Lynch on the ground and the aggressive defence has proved itself, it's time to see some spirals, Percy Harvin may return and that should help. No contest.
Recommended Bet: Seahawks @ 1.091/11

Baltimore Ravens @ Cleveland Browns
Sunday 21:25

AFC North match up as the Raven travel to Cleveland. Baltimore come out of a bye week looking for their twelfth straight win over the Browns. Both Flacco and Rice have been enormous disappointments this season and must improve soon. The Browns are tough and they tested the Chiefs last week but the constant rotation at QB is giving them no rhythm.
Recommended Bet: Ravens @ 1.784/5

Pittsburgh Steelers @ New England Patriots
Sunday 21:25

Although still not convincing the Patriots are getting their act together, Brady is not performing at his usual level as he lacks protection. Still the Pats have an outstanding record against the Steelers over the years. Pittsburgh are suffering, the loss of so many key players has proved too disrupting, Big Ben looks shaky and exposed and Le'Veon Bell needs to improve.
Recommended Bet: Patriots @ 1.364/11

Indianapolis Colts @ Houston Texans
Monday 01:30

Late game on Sunday and an AFC South clash as the 2-5 Texans host the 5-2 Colts. If the Texans are to challenge for the division again it has to start this Sunday as a loss and the Colts will run away with it. The Colts have looked outstanding and Luck is only improving, he'll be the best in the league soon, but the injury to Reggie Wayne will test his talent again, the Colts have relied on him for years and their reaction to his loss will be telling. The Texans have been huge disappointments and the absence of Cushing for the year again will only hamper their recovery. At QB they will start Keenum but he will hope to get a lot of help from his running back, Arian Foster has always performed against Indy.
Recommended Bet: Colts @ 1.84/5

Chicago Bears @ Green Bay Packers
Tuesday 01:40

Monday Night Football and an NFC North battle at Lambeau. The Packers have won six straight against the Bears and five in a row in Green Bay. Rodgers has found his rhythm and coach Mike McCarthy has his team performing at a high level, rookie RB Eddie Lacy has impressed and they look to be on the start of a winning run. The Bears looked competitive but injuries have ruined their chances, Jay Cutler is out and he can't be replaced.
Recommended Bet: Packers @ 1.21/5
