The Phoenix Suns are the hottest team in the league right now and with the Mavericks likely resting players, they should make it eight wins from eight in the NBA bubble, says Dave Gray...

The Phoenix Suns came into the NBA bubble with almost no chance of making the playoffs. But seven straight wins has meant this final regular season game is huge for them and they may end up sneaking in as the hottest team in the league.

They need to win over the Mavericks and then see the Grizzlies lose to the Bucks, but the incredible form of Devin Booker, who is averaging over 30 points per game since the restart, has them on the verge of an amazing comeback.

The Mavericks spot in the playoffs is already secured so don't expect to see a heavy workload for the likes of Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis if at all. That would be disappointing as it would have been a chance to see two of the league's best scorers going up against each other but it plays into the Suns hands.

Even with their star players it would have been tough for the Mavs up against this juggernaut, but without them it is hard to see them keeping up with Phoenix. The Suns have been incredible since the restart and back them to win this one comfortably. There will be plenty of teams already in the playoffs that will be hoping they do not make it as they would be as tough of a match up as a one seed could get right now.

Lillard is the bubble MVP

While Devin Booker is leading the Suns into the playoffs, Damian Lillard is doing that and more for Portland. In these seeding games he has averaged 37 points and nine assists and has moved the Trail Blazers into the eight seed where like the Suns, they will be the team that nobody wants to face. Lillard is arguably the bubble MVP and his 61 points in the win against the Mavericks last time out means that it is in their hands tonight. A win against Brooklyn and they are in.

The Nets will not make things easy though. They are 5-2 since the restart, but with the 7th seed locked up, they should be resting players for their playoff run. There is nothing to play for for them, and with Lillard on fire right now, it is hard to back them. Of course, it can free players up but with the starters unlikely to even suit up, back Portland to run away with this one.
