Joel Embiid and the 76ers can upset the Lakers and end their perfect road record, thinks Dave Gray...
"If there is a team out there that can handle them though it may well be the 76ers. When they are at their best, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons have the size and talent to compete with them."

Lakers on fire
The Lakers form on the road continued with yet another win to make it 10-0 for the season. That is a big reason why they currently sit with the best record in the league. LeBron James had an incredible night as he put up 46 points as he returned to Cleveland. His MVP odds are slowly creeping in but if he keeps up this form it will be hard to hand the award to anybody else.
Los Angeles are just dominant in both offence and defence. The combo of James and Anthony Davis is too much for even the best of teams. If there is a team out there that can handle them though it may well be the 76ers. When they are at their best, Joel Embiid and Ben Simmons have the size and talent to compete with them.
Embiid has been in incredible form and may well be one to challenge LeBron for the MVP award. Averaging 27.7 points and 11.7 rebounds and has really taken another step up from what was already a very high level. He missed the loss to the Pistons last time out but he should be good to go tonight.
Tobias Harris and Seth Curry are also making solid contributions and it is making the 76ers very hard to beat. In Embiid's absence Harris put up 25 points but it was not enough without their star man. With the 26-year-old on the court they are a force to be reckoned with. Without him they just lack that star power.
Upset in Philly
The Lakers are a phenomenal team who are rightly favourites to win a second straight title. But they are playing their fourth road game in seven nights and the tough road trip may just catch up to them against the 76ers tonight. Take the 76ers to upset the Lakers.
