Andy Roddick wasted little time in advancing to round three at Wimbledon with a straight sets victory over Thailand's Danai Udomchoke.

The third seed looked far from his best but ran out a 6-3 6-4 7-6 winner over the diminutive 25-year-old and now faces the winner of the Fernando Verdasco - Andreas Seppi clash for a place in round four.

Roddick, a two-time finalist at SW19, trades at 19 to win the tournament, having been matched at small stakes at 29 but he will have to get past the likes of red-hot favourite Roger Federer (1.43) and Rafael Nadal (8.8) if he is to secure his first Wimbledon title.

In the "Winner without Federer" market the US star is offered at 16, but Betfair customers should note that he is scheduled to meet the Swiss world number one in the semi-finals should the two players make it to the last four of the world's greatest tournament.

Elsewhere Serena Williams (4.7 to win the tournament) beat Alicia Molik 7-6 6-3 and now faces the winner of the Samantha Stosur - Milagros Sequera match.

Stosur trades at 4 to advance with Sequera on offer at 1.26 in their second-round encounter.

Williams struggled in the first set, with her Australian opponent playing above herself and the American unable to break down her resistance.

But once she had come from 4-2 down in the first-set tie-break the writing was on the wall, and the younger Williams sister advanced ominously towards the second week of the tournament.
