Betfairian Ben Caudell will provide daily tips throughout the championships - he kicks off the Wimbledon fortnight with three bets from the men's draw

Defending champion and Wimbledon legend Roger Federer is first up on Centre court against Slovakian journeyman Dominik Hrbaty today. Don't expect anything other than a straight sets victory for super Fed and anything over 28.5 games being played, this match will be over in a blink of an eye.

Unlike the Federer match there are a few matches being played today that have the potential of going all the way, and the following could be great for trading...

Michael Llodra v Mario Ancic: Could be a five set thriller if both players live up to their grass court reputations, however it will all depend on Llodra's health as he recently pulled out of Nottingham with a shoulder injury.

Selection: Small bet on Llodra to win if fully recovered from injury @ [3.5].

Philip Kholschreiber v Fernando Verdasco: This could be the match of the day, both players have decent form on grass and both have had good tournaments leading up to Wimbledon, Verdasco losing to Karlovic in the Nottingham final and Kohlschreiber to Federer in the final of Halle. Although Kholschreiber is leading the head-to-head 2-0 I am going to be backing Verdasco for the following reasons:

1. Kohlschreiber has a 2-8 losing record vs left-handers

2. Verdasco has better grass court statistics on service, break points - serve, return, and match stats such as game win loss % and set win lose %. The only stat Kohlschreiber beats Verdasco on is Break points - return%

3. Verdasco has better record at Wimbledon and a better Grand Slam Record; Kholschreiber has lost in the 1st round at Wimbledon twice in the last 3 years and only managed to reach the last 32 in 2006.

Selection: Medium bet on Verdasco to win match @ [2.3].

Juan Carlos Ferrero v Sam Querrey Ferrero reached the quarter-finals here last year and although Querrey has grass court game it still doesn't rival Ferrero's 17-7 record at Wimbledon, Querrey has only won two of his last eight matches on grass.

Selection: Back Ferrero to win at even money.

Good Luck
