Martin Hingis admits she is growing in confidence on Wimbledon's grass courts after a stuttering start to her campaign at SW19.
After surviving a match point in her first-round victory over Britain's Naomi Cavaday, the Swiss ace cruised to 6-1 6-2 success over Japan's Aiko Nakamura.
Hingis, a winner at Wimbledon in 1997, has looked out of sorts on court in recent weeks but her second-round success looks to have boosted her confidence.
Speaking about the Nakamura match, she said: "She had game points on her own serve and didn't make it. Then I just swept through the first set, broke her down a little bit mentally that she could not finish the games."
Hingis added: "I'm just really looking to the next step because I'm building up, I can only get better. Every day I'm winning on condition and match practice, also confidence."
The world number 11, who is currently trading at 110 to win the tournament, will face America's Laura Granville in the third round.
The five-time Grand Slam winner is on offer at 1.26 to reach the fourth round, with Granville available to back at 4.4.
