Mario Ancic is the latest high profile withdrawal from Wimbledon, with the Croatian ace pulling out due to illness.

The 23-year-old, who was diagnosed with glandular fever earlier this year, is a former semi-finalist at SW19 and had been seeded 18th for this year's event.

Ancic will join ex-French Open champion Gaston Gaudio and Belgium's Xavier Malisse on the sidelines, while Jurgen Melzer, Paradorn Srichaphan and Jose Acasuso will also miss the third Grand Slam of the season.

Ancic, who was the last player to beat Roger Federer at Wimbledon (2002), is always dangerous on grass with his big serve and several higher seeds will undoubtably be happy he will not be taking part this year.
The Split-born star has been replaced in the draw by Canadian Frank Dancevic, who lost to Radek Stepanek in last year's first round.

The absence of Ancic, who had traded to small stakes at 75, is sure to have a major impact on the betting for the men's singles - defending champion Federer remains the 1.45 favourite.

Meanwhile, Betfair punters don't expect a new name on the famous trophy next month. 'No' is the 1.43 favourite in the 'New Winner' market, with 'Yes' trading at 3.2.
