The second round of the 2016 US Open gets underway on Wednesday as SportNeverSleeps return with their best bets...

Back Kuznetsova to beat Wozniacki 2-0 @ 2.1411/10

It was a poor day tips wise for us yesterday, but with a busy day three to look forward to on Wednesday, we're confident about bouncing back.

Angelique Kerber leads the field as her quest to become world number one continues, while there's a whole host of intriguing clashes to keep an eye on.

Kuznetsova to end Wozniacki run

The US Open has brought the best out of these two over the years, with the pair reaching the final of the tournament twice each previously.

Further, there's nothing to split them in terms of their head-to-head record either as they're locked at 6-6, having also split their four previous meetings at Grand Slams.

However, our decision to pick Svetlana Kuznetsova in straight sets comes down to current form and a lack of confidence in Caroline Wozniacki's ability to deliver against a top rival.

The pair met at Wimbledon earlier this summer with the Russian prevailing in two, and she's had some solid preparation for New York while her upcoming opponent has struggled for form.

Keys to sweep aside teenage compatriot

Elsewhere, we've got another all-American encounter to look forward to as the second round pits eighth seed Madison Keys against 16-year-old Kayla Day.

Day advanced from the last round after Madison Brengle was forced to retire, but the teenager was on the verge of completing a win prior to the premature ending.

Ranked 374 in the world, there is a massive gap here in terms of talent and experience. Although Day enjoyed a solid run at New Haven, it won't be enough, and shouldn't be enough, to trouble Keys.

She had to come from a set down last time out against Alison Riske to book her spot here, but back Keys to produce a more accomplished performance in this one to march on.

Vinci to continue to enjoy her New York return

Last year's finalist Roberta Vinci looked in good form last time out with a straight-forward win over Anna-Lena Friedsam, as she hopes to rediscover her best tennis in the Big Apple.

Having arrived without a great deal of confidence after some poor losses, she'll be hoping to draw some inspiration from her efforts last year.

If she harbours ambitions of going further this time round she'll have to overcome Christina McHale who has the ability to turn this into a nightmare outing.

Similarly to her rival, she had a mixed build-up with some early exits coupled with a decent run in Montreal.

However, we're backing Vinci to deliver on the day and continue her push to replicate the magic of last year.
