Crystal Palace chairman Simon Jordan has admitted that he would be prepared to sacrifice entertainment for points next season.

Jordan had boldly anticipated a quick return to the Premiership last season but his assertion proved to be way off the mark as the Eagles failed to make the play-offs.

Supporters were far from satisfied for parts of the campaign last term as the football on show was sub-standard, but Jordan has revealed he would be willing to accept whatever means necessary in order to get the results to win a return to the top flight.

Jordan, whose side are available as the 26 outsiders on Betfair's developing "The Championship - Winner 2007/08" market said: "The season hasn't started yet, so it's too soon to say what might or might not happen.
"All I will say is that we've set our sights on promotion - how we get there is immaterial to me.
"I wouldn't take the play-offs if they were offered to me now, because I don't want to go in with any pre-conceived ideas.

"All I want is to win more games than we did last year. It's as simple and as straightforward as that.
"Enjoyment is secondary for me - I couldn't care less about the style of play, as long as we're successful. You only enjoy games if you're winning."
Charlton are West Brom are trading as the 8.2 joint favourites to win promotion to the Premiership, with Wolves also fancied on 9.6.
