Tim Henman's hopes of an elusive first Wimbledon title are still alive after an epic five-set victory over Carlos Moya.

The British number two and the Spaniard began the day on two sets each and five games apiece after bad light forced them to abandon their match on Monday evening.

With no tie-break in the deciding set at SW19 the match dragged on in the decider but it was the Brit who finally prevailed over the 1998 French Open champion.

The six-time Grand Slam semi-finalist finally took the fifth set for a 6-3 1-6 5-7 6-2 13-11 victory, as Moya served a double fault to end the match.

Spain's Feliciano Lopez now waits in round two after his straight sets victory over Britain's Joshua Goodall.

Henman's best days are thought to be behind him and he is not expected to feature in the latter stage of the prestigious event with the likes of Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and a resurgent Andy Roddick seemingly taking the sport to a new level.

The Oxford-born star is still long odds to win the tournament with Federer favourite at 1.43 and Nadal trading at 9.4, while Henman is still available as favourite in the Top Briton.

Roddick is on offer at 18 and is available at generous odds of 15.5 in the "Winner without Federer" market and 1.04 to beat Danai Udomchoke in his second-round clash.
