Guillermo Canas shocked Roger Federer for the second time in a fortnight to book his place in the Miami Masters quarter-finals.
The headline-making Argentine brought world number one Federer's 41-game winning streak to a grinding halt earlier this month in Indian Wells - but the Swiss star came within a whisker of gaining revenge at the Sony Ericsson Open.
Federer took a 3-1 lead in the final set only for Canas to come straight back at him to force a tie-break, which he won 7-5 to seal a 7-6 (2-7) 2-6 7-6 (7-5) victory.
The result means Canas is only the fifth player to record back-to-back wins over Federer.
"I don't know what it is the key to beat him, I fight for every point and I think for that I beat him," said the 29-year-old.
"I have luck because I played very well the two matches. For me it's like a dream. To beat the world number one two weeks in a row is amazing."
Rafael Nadal, Andy Roddick and Tommy Robredo all progressed, beating Juan Martin Del Potro, David Ferrer and Radek Stepanek respectively.
Canas is the 1.67 favourite in the Match Odds market to get past Robredo (2.4) and secure a place in the semi-finals.
He can also be backed at 8.6 to go all the way in Miami, while Nadal is trading as the 2.36 favourite to triumph. Home favourite Roddick has also come in for support at 7.6.
