Novak Djokovic has crashed out of the Artois Championship at the third round stage following a surprise defeat to veteran Frenchman Arnaud Clement.

Despite comfortably winning the first set, fourth seed Djokovic went down 2-6 6-3 6-4 to a player 39 places behind him in the world rankings.

The defeat will come as a major blow to the Serbian's preparations for Wimbledon, where he reached the fourth round last year before losing to Mario Ancic.

The 20-year-old is currently fourth favourite in the Betfair Wimbledon outright winner market, with Djokovic trading at 32.
There was better news for world number two Rafael Nadal, who reached the quarter-finals at Queen's Club following his straight sets victory (7-6 6-3) over Max Mirnyi.

The Spaniard, trading at 6.8 to add the Wimbledon crown to his French Open success, will now face unseeded Frenchman Nicolas Mahut in the last eight.
