British hopes Andy Murray and Tim Henman have been handed tough-looking first-round matches at Wimbledon.

Murray, who will reveal on Sunday whether he will be fit to play, has been drawn to face Ecuador's Nicolas Lapentti.

The Scot has never faced Lapentti in an ATP event, but his 30-year-old opponent is a former Wimbledon quarter-finalist (2002).

Lapentti, ranked 63rd in the world, also has good memories of SW19 from a Davis Cup encounter, when featuring in his country's victory over Great Britain back in 2000.

Meanwhile, Henman has been given the task of facing former French Open champion Carlos Moya.

Spaniard Moya holds a 5-4 lead over Henman in career meetings but they have not played each other since 2003 and have never met on grass.

Betfair punters following the British number two's progress will be keen to keep an eye on the developing 'Henman Progress' market.

Elsewhere, defending champion Roger Federer will start his campaign against Russia's Teimuraz Gabashvili while second seed Rafael Nadal plays American Mardy Fish.

Two-time runner-up and third seed Andy Roddick is up against fellow American Justin Gimelstob, while British number three Alex Bogdanovic will meet Chris Guccione of Australia in his first-round tie.
