John Adeleye is the fifth act to be eliminated from this year’s X Factor
"Treyc Cohen's sing-off rendition of Jennifer Hudson’s One Night Only was a polished performance and she fully deserved to be saved ahead of Adeleye."
In the latest X Factor results show John Adeleye became the fifth artist to be eliminated from this year's show, losing a sing-off against Treyc Cohen.
John Adeleye became the fifth act eliminated from this year's X Factor after losing out in a tense sing-off with fellow contestant Treyc Cohen on Sunday evening. Judges Louis Walsh and Cheryl Cole not surprisingly saved their own acts, but the two neutral judges - Simon Cowell and Dannii Minogue - both elected to save Cohen which meant Adeleye's hopes of stardom were over.
Adeleye was available to back at around [4.5] in the 5th Elimination market prior to the results show starting, though for Cohen it was a big surprise that she was in the bottom two - she was available to back at [16.0] to be eliminated. Her sing-off rendition of Jennifer Hudson's One Night Only was a polished performance and she fully deserved to be saved ahead of Adeleye, whose rendition of the Kelly Clarkson hit Because of You was littered with errors and out of tune.
Meanwhile, Matt Cardle remains the strong favourite to win this year's show after performing a fantastic acoustic version of the famed Britney Spears song Hit Me Baby One More Time that had Simon Cowell declaring, "It was absolutely incredible - I loved it". Cardle is available to back at [2.8] in the Winner market, just ahead of boy band One Direction ([3.8]) and shy Liverpool girl Rebecca Ferguson ([7.8]).
