Belle Amie’s departure means Simon Cowell has just one act remaining
"Departing with the immortal words, “This is not the end” (actually it is), Bell Amie leave Simon Cowell with just one act (One Direction) to work with".
Simon Cowell has only one act remaining after his girl band Belle Amie became the sixth act to be eliminated from this year's X Factor.
For the first time this series an X Factor elimination was decided by 'deadlock'; and it was manufactured girl bank Belle Amie that received the fewest public votes meaning they became the sixth act to be eliminated from this year's show.
Departing with the immortal words, "This is not the end" (actually it is), Belle Amie leave Simon Cowell with just one act (One Direction) to work with as he strives to become the first mentor to guide a 'Group' to X Factor success. Belle Amie's departure came as no surprise to Betfair punters either, they were the [2.3] favourites in the 6th Elimination market prior to Sunday's results show going on air after their poor - and out of tune - rendition of Bananarama's Venus the night before.
Katie Waissel was the other artist to finish in the bottom two as voted by the public, but she once again performed well in the sing-off and deserved to stay.
Matt Cardle ([3.8]) remains the favourite to win this year's X Factor but for the first time since the live shows commenced he endured some not-so-favourable comments after performing the Leona Lewis hit Bleeding Love on Saturday night. Louis Walsh commented that he wasn't crazy on the song whilst Cheryl Cole said, "I think it was a tough song for you to sing tonight, and I think you seemed a little bit defeated."
Cardle's closest pursuers in the Winner market - One Direction ([4.2]), Rebecca Ferguosn ([4.4]), and Cher Lloyd ([6.6]) - all performed well with Lloyd in particular standing out during her 'non-rap' version of the Shakespeares Sister classic Stay.

You're absolutely right Graham... hence the edit which I had done before I noticed your comment (honest!).
