On One Direction

"I'm not sure why people are thinking that Cowell ramping them is a good thing. Every time he gives them a standing ovation and tells the crowd how good they are, I will lay more." - A1 Bionic

"One Direction has two of the strongest male singers in the competition in Liam and Harry - but also unfortunately one of the worst in Zain. His timing is simply atrocious, even worse than the one from Diva Fever who had the 'something about Mary' hair! How Zain made the cut (other than adding to the 'look') I don't know." - Dizzy42

"If Cowell is looking for an act who can make him a bit of money in this country, he may well back One Direction to the end (although I don't think they're good enough for widespread international appeal IMO, so winning isn't as important). If, however, he is looking for a good advertisement for the American X-factor he'll ultimately want a naturally good performer that could go on an American talk show with him who'll appeal to the American audience and can be relied upon to give a good performance and put the x-factor format in a good light." - ghatroonh

On Aiden Grimshaw

"I thought he was in with a very very good chance when watching the auditions and had a great first week. Really blew it on Saturday though. They should have lowered the key as he couldn't get near the top notes." - LOU MACARIS TARTAN B

"I'd like to know if Grimmer really did choose to sing Jealous Guy like Dannii said on Saturday or whether the song was chosen for him. On Mary Byrne

"I can see this one from a possible trading perspective, but she reminds me of a fair few of the 'oldie women' singers they've had on these shows over the years - they are good, talented, reasonably popular, but ultimately don't harvest votes to win (Even Subo didn't win!). Her finishing in the top 5 looks almost a cert though." - stu

On Treyc Cohen

"For me she is easily the best vocalist in the contest, I'd go as far to say by a LONG way. Fair enough it's hardly a singing competition but she seems a nice, likeable, bubbly girl with a great smile, and her talents clearly haven't gone unnoticed by TPTB. It's early days and I'm quite happy to see her sit in behind the pacemakers, ready to pick them off one by one. Took some 50's pre judges houses, 28's when the wildcard rumours surfaced and have had to top up again on her as she has hit 26. Good luck to all who are on." _albuhera_

On Wagner

"People already getting behind Wagner as an anti-Cowell vote. If he comes out and says what a joke it would be if Wagner wins, that will generate even bigger support. If Cowell does do this we know he wants Wagner in the show, as Cowell knows better than anyone that any such negativity would generate more Wagner phone votes." - johnnyrant
