Joe McElderry is hotly tipped to win this year's X Factor when it concludes this weekend, but will Olly or Stacey pip him to the title?
"He’s (Joe McElderry) sung 68 ballads in a row now and has danced less than Heather Mills would dance if nursing a broken foot. And that smile of his – how annoying? It’s so cheesy that I wouldn’t be surprised if the first company to give him a sponsorship deal is Wotsits!"
It's the end of the road for Mike Norman's reign as Reality TV Tipster of the Year but he's not bitter (or so he says), and he's still hoping to save some face by seeing entertainer Olly Murs triumph over boring Joe McElderry this weekend.

If only there was such a service! I'd be on the phone to them right away asking them to come and collect my colleague Jack Houghton before he gives me it in the neck this weekend.
As regular readers of these pages will know, myself and Jack aren't here just to advise winning selections on this year's X Factor, we are also battling it out to be the 2009 Reality TV Tipster of the Year. And unfortunately for me, after Danyl Johnson's elimination from the competition on Sunday, it's that wretched Houghton who is set to be crowned this year's champion.
True, if Geordie boy Joe McElderry wins this year's X Factor then I could technically claim a draw. But that would be very ungracious of me; after all, Jack tipped Joe up at [12.0], whereas I only got on at [11.5].
Joe is now available to back at just [1.49] to be crowned Champion Singer of the Year when the X Factor concludes this weekend. The two other finalists, Stacey Solomon and Olly Murs, are available to back at [6.0] and [6.2] respectively.
In all honesty I think Joe will win, but I'm really hoping that he doesn't. He has a great voice but that's it - there's absolutely nothing X-Factorish about this guy whatsoever, in fact I find him incredibly boring. He's sung 68 ballads in a row now and has danced less than Heather Mills would dance if nursing a broken foot. And that smile of his - how annoying? It's so cheesy that I wouldn't be surprised if the first company to give him a sponsorship deal is Wotsits!
Living in the north-east is just a tad irritating at the moment - I can't turn on the TV without hearing about Joe this and Joe that, and that if this 'likeable' Geordie were to win it would do wonders for the region. Err excuse me but no it wouldn't. Newcastle United winning the FA Cup, Sunderland winning the Premier League, or even Middlesbrough winning two games on the trot would be a huge lift for the area, not Joe bloody McElderry winning X Factor!
Sorry for being a wet blanket but I don't like Stacey either. Another good singer but nowhere near in the same league as previous winners Alexander Burke or Leona Lewis, so in my opinion, if she wins, then this year's competition has really gone down a notch.
So I guess you've all worked out who I'll be cheering on this weekend, not from a betting point of view but more as a fan. I also need Olly to win to save some face. All through this year's X Factor I've been saying that an entertainer will win as opposed to someone with just a voice. So seeing as though Olly is the only contestant remaining who can actually combine singing with moving, dancing and entertaining, then for one weekend only I'm going to be completely im-MURS-ed in how this colourful Cockney gets on.
There are a few markets still worth playing in. One is the Third Place finish market in which I fancy Stacey at odds of [2.28]. It's more of a hunch than anything else but I can just see the final two being Joe and Olly with dippy Stacey looking on from the sidelines.
Finally, if you haven't had a bet yet then I still see no reason why Olly won't give you a great run for your money at [6.2] in the Winner market. If Joe comes out and performs another three soppy, depressing, low-tempo songs whilst donning his usual irritating smile then a few voters might jump ship. Olly meanwhile is going to go for it on Saturday and get the audience well and truly on his side. I doubt he will be available to back at [6.2] after Saturday's performances are over.
So that's it from me this year. Once again it's been an absolute pleasure writing about one of the best reality TV shows in the world. I can't wait for Britain's Got Talent to start in the spring so be sure to check back then when hopefully I'll be able to persuade Mr Houghton to come and take me on again. In the meantime, your crown is on the table Jack... I'll get my coat... well done mate.
