Katie Waissel tonight became the 10th act to be eliminated from the X Factor
"For the first time this series an X Factor finalist went odds on in the Winner market, Matt Cardle being matched at [1.94] after two flawless performances during rock week."
Perennial sing-off contestant Katie Waissel was finally eliminated from this year's X Factor on Sunday evening, and she was shortly followed by the shambolic Wagner.
It was perhaps inevitable, but Katie Waissel, four times in the bottom two, finally left the X Factor competition on Sunday night when she became the 10th act to leave this year's competition courtesy of finishing bottom of a public vote. She was quickly followed by the dreadful Wagner who lost out in a sing-off to Irish supermarket worker Mary Byrne.
Waissel was available to back at around [2.5] in the 10th Elimination market prior to her departure, whilst Wagner - who was the unanimous choice to leave by judges Simon Cowell, Cheryl Cole, Louis Walsh and Dannii Minogue - was available to back at around [4.3] prior to the 11th Elimination market being suspended.
For the first time this series an X Factor finalist went odds on in the Winner market, Matt Cardle being matched at [1.83] after two flawless performances during rock week. But to be honest - Wagner apart - there weren't many performances that didn't impress. Members of One Direction - [4.4] to win the competition - proved they had good voices during a ballad performance, whilst Rebecca Ferguson ([5.6]) finally performed an up-tempo number.
But it was Cher Lloyd ([24.0]) who arguably stole the show, putting her 'rap' style spin on classic rock anthems Girlfriend and Walk This Way.
With just five acts remaining and two weeks to go before this year's winner is crowned, who do you believe is destined for success? Let us know by leaving a comment below.

CHER stole the show???? Didnt you hear Matts 'Nights in White Satin'? That was the performance of the series far less the show!

It's all relative Maggie.
Cardle is the odds on favourite to win the show and good performances are expected from him.... and yes, he delivered.
But Cher was one of the favourites to be eliminated this week, yet she took a huge risk in performing the songs that she did and she pulled them off, hence why I believe she 'stole' the show.
Stealing the show doesn't mean you sang the best, it simply means that, as a viewer, you went 'wow', I wasn't expecting that. I expected Matt to perform well, I wasn't expecting Cher to do so well... were you?
