Strictly Come Dancing Betting: Kelvin top of the tower as Michelle leaves

Blackpool was the scene of this weekend's Strictly
The Blackpool special is always a big moment in Strictly

Kelvin Fletcher is way out in front in the betting after another strong week, while Saffron survived at the expense of Michelle, says Max Liu.

"With just six contestants left, Chris Ramsey is the early favourite for the ninth elimination when Strictly returns next Saturday with Musicals Week."

The Blackpool weekend always produces plenty of drama on the dance floor and this year's didn't disappoint as Michelle Visage was eliminated from Strictly.

The judges were unanimous in deciding Michelle and her partner Giovanni Pernice, who faced Saffron Barker and AJ in the dance off, should leave. American singer Visage said appearing on Strictly had been "amazing", although she was reportedly very upset to become the eighth contestant to leave.

Kelvin on top after another good week

Kelvin Fletcher 1/21.49 is the favourite to win this year's glitter ball after another strong week on the dance floor with partner Oti Mabuse. The actor has been top of the market ever since wowing judges and fans in week one, even though he only came into the show as a last minute replacement.

They tied with Karim Zeroual 9/25.4 - Fletcher's closest rival in the betting - and his partner Amy Dowden who also achieved a score of 39, closely followed by Emma Barton 18/119.0 and Anton DuBeke who received 37 from the judges.

With Kelvin and Karim way out in front in the betting, ex-England footballer Alex Scott comes next at 18/119.0. Scott and partner Neil Jones came fifth out of seven couples on the Blackpool leaderboard but is still being backed to finish the show as best female.

With just six contestants left, Chris Ramsey is the early favourite for the ninth elimination when Strictly returns next Saturday with Musicals Week. Mind you, there have been upsets in the eliminations market during this series so we could yet be in for another surprise.
