Week three of Strictly produced an upset in the elimination odds and saw Kelvin Fletcher's favouritism firm up with another impressive performance, says Max Liu.
"Fletcher has been the favourite to win the series since week one but the odds on him going all the way shortened to 7/52.4 after he and partner Oti Mabuse wowed judges on Saturday."
Anneka Rice provided the first upset of the new series of Strictly after she became the second contestant to be eliminated.
The former TV presenter had traded at 4/15.2 for the chop earlier in the week, with ex-England goalkeeper David James backed into around evens.
James survives but for how long?
In the show's Movie Week, Rice and partner Kevin Clifton, who won the show last year with Stacey Dooley, received only 11 points from judges for their Charleston.
James and partner Nadiya Bychkova went for a Viennese Waltz, a decision was vindicated in the dance off when all of the judges - Shirley Ballas, Motsi Mabuse, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood - decided to save James.
The odds indicate that next weekend he might not be so lucky: James is 8/131.6 for the third elimination.
Fletcher firms up as favourite with perfect ten
Kelvin Fletcher has been the favourite to win the series since week one but the odds on him going all the way shortened to 7/52.4 after he and partner Oti Mabuse wowed judges on Saturday.
The ex-Emmerdale actor and Mabuse scored 38 out of a possible 40 for their spectacular Charleston, meaning they got the first two perfect 10s of the series.
Following Fletcher in the betting is Karim Zeroual 7/24.7, Emma Barton 10/111.0, Michelle Visage 11/112.0 and Dev Griffin 12/113.0.
Strictly returns at 18:40 on Saturday.
