Ex-England goalkeeper is firm favourite for the second elimination at the weekend but can he upset the odds? Max Liu reports on the latest Strictly betting odds...
David James is the favourite to be eliminated from Strictly Come Dancing on Sunday after he narrowly survived week one by beating James Cracknell in a tense dance off.
A tale of two James
Cracknell (pictured above) went into the weekend as the firm favourite to be eliminated, following his dismal display the previous week. On Saturday's show, however, Cracknell and partner Luba Mushtuk scored 13 points for their Jive - a pathetic score but better than the 10 received by James and Nadiya Bychkova for their Pasodoble.
On Sunday, however, the former-England goalkeeper and his partner put in an improved performance and came out on top against the Olympic gold medallist rower who became the first contestant to be axed.
James will breathe a big sigh of relief but he knows he needs to improve considerably if he's to stay in the show beyond next weekend. It's early days, with liquidity yet to flow in the market, but he's 2.186/5 in the Betfair Exchange second elimination betting, a long way ahead of Mike Bushell 4.94/1 and Anneka Rice 5.24/1.
Karim leads but Kelvin is still favourite
At the opposite end of the leaderboard, Karim Zeroual and partner Amy Dowden are at the top with a combined Week One and Two score of 63. They're followed by Michelle Visage who did well again, winning 32 points for her Viennese waltz with Giovanni Pernice.
Karim 3.814/5 is second in the betting to be the show's over all winner behind Kelvin Fletcher 3.259/4 who sits in third on the leaderboard with partner Oti Mabuse.
After that, Dev Griffin is in fourth place but trading as long as 19.018/1 to emerge as the over all winner. Bettors still think Emma Barton 11.010/1 and Alex Scott 14.013/1 have stronger chances of taking the crown eventually, even though they currently lie in seventh and eighth respectively.
Strictly Come Dancing returns to BBC One at 19:10 on Saturday.
