Metronomy have attracted late money as the Mercury Music betting gets frisky
"Value hunters are searching for a bigger price than favourite PJ Harvey in an event renowned for surprise winners."
...but could Metronomy spring a surprise?
PJ Harvey has been a late drifter on Betfair in the Mercury Music Prize betting with James Blake emerging from the chasing pack as the next likeliest winner.
Matched at a low of [2.0] in early trading, Harvey has been backed at a high of [3.8] today as value hunters search for a bigger price in an event renowned for surprise winners.
So could Blake be that man? The 22-year-old is the current second favourite at [6.4] for his eponymous debut album, which certainly fits the profile of accessible, yet nevertheless leftfield, electronic music.
Coming up the hard on the rails however are Metronomy who have fallen from around [12.0] in the market to a current price of [7.6].
That makes the team behind The English Riviera third favourites, clear of Anna Calvi ([8.2]), Adele ([8.4]) and King Cresote + Jon Hopkins ([10.0]).
