At least Australian model Emily won't have far to go when her time comes
"The fact there hasn't been any smooching between Emily and Mark would suggest the romance tactic has failed (Emily). Sinitta is [6.0] to go, but surely we need her for more trials?"
The eliminations have begun with a quickie last night and another tonight. Alan Dudman looks at the betting and has bad news for FHM model Emily Scott...
The dismal record of American contestants continued on Thursday night, as Stefanie Powers became the first contestant to be eliminated from the jungle.
In what was a whirlwind eviction process, the blue team secured immunity - which resulted in half of the market wiped out - leaving members of the orange gang open to a speedy public vote. With 13 left in camp, it's time for the evictions to roll.
Powers managed nearly two weeks in the jungle, and I suggest the serum darling, that hair is wild.
In the past few days since my previous instalment, cheesy DJ Pat Sharp went a bit bonkers. The cunning ploy to burn Tedward* at the stake provoked an angry response from the voters, who put him through two bushtucker trials. Sharp revealed it was all a plan to get the chance to win some stars, and it worked. It's all calmed down now, but it was a mark against Sharp.
The spats between Antony Cotton and Fatima Whitbread continue. Although Cotton's line regarding Pat was an absolute beauty: "The reason he hasn't been on telly for years is that he is a massive knob."
Fatima, meanwhile, suggested that Sharp "just wants to prove he's a man." Wouldn't we all, dear.
Meanwhile the midweek immunity challenge in the beds was just about the most brutal task I have witnessed since the show started. Sinitta surprisingly jumped out before the task started. Sorry, I meant unsurprisingly. However, Willie Carson flicking cockroaches should surely be made into a TV series. Monkey tennis anyone?
The winner market is still revolving around Mark Wright [2.86], Dougie Poynter [4.7] and Antony [5.3]. Dougie still hasn't done or said anything, but his price is contracting all the time. The bass player must be doing something, but I still can't see it. However, if a film producer was looking for an actor to play either Beavis or Butthead - Dougie's your man.
On to the second elimination on Friday night, and remember voters are calling to save their man or woman. Those with fewest are up for the exit. Lorraine Chase was a 'might be' with Powers on Thursday, so the backers might be looking at the [5.0] on offer. But I like to rely on the patriotic UK voters to dial in their droves, which means they are unlikely to vote for the Aussie. Which makes Emily prime back material at around [3.0].
She is the potential romance of Mark, who used his best chat-up line in the lake with her: "Do you like eating balls."
The fact there hasn't been any smooching would suggest the tactic has failed. Sinitta is [6.0] to go, but surely we need her for more trials?
