The time has come to be eliminated from another reality show, Chico
"Chico hasn’t attempted the headbanger yet, which is the most dangerous and skilful move we see on the show, yet Matthew and Jorgie have both successfully completed it well before the final."
Reality TV watchers have been here before - we're down to the final few contestants and one of them is clearly outclassed. On Dancing on Ice that man is Chico and he must be backed to finish third this weekend, says Simon Hopper
Chico has been one of the most entertaining skaters in this year's Dancing On Ice but it's hard to see him gate-crashing the Matthew/Jorgie show in Sunday's final.
The former X Factor contestant was absolutely sensational last week, racking up the best score of the night for his routine (28.5) - which also tied for the highest mark in the entire series. His Ultimate Skills Test wasn't too shabby, either, and I wasn't massively surprised that he managed to avoid the skate-off as a result.
However, I can't see him finishing anywhere other than third on Sunday - his rivals just look too strong. Matthew Wolfenden has never been in the skate-off and has accumulated by far the highest number of points over the entire series, so he looks rock solid for at least a runner-up berth. Jorgie Porter, meanwhile, was in the bottom two for the first time last weekend but you can be sure her supporters will be out in force trying to put that right on Sunday - it's the old reality TV 'bounce back' factor which can never be underestimated.
The other problem Chico has is that he's just not as good at skating as the other two. Yes, he topped the charts for his routine last weekend, but the judges are quite obviously treating Matthew and Jorgie more harshly due to their superior ability. For example, Chico hasn't attempted the headbanger yet, which is the most dangerous and skilful move we see on the show, yet Matthew and Jorgie have both successfully completed it well before the final.
I don't expect Chico to trade much above the [1.62] mark on the night but even at that price I still think he's worth backing to be first out.
