Our new Betting.Betfair contributor Claire Taylor is a self-confessed lover of Reality TV, and her first preview takes a look at Celebrity Big Brother and who she believes is the early value in Betfair's Sportsbook market...
"She has the most followers on Twitter totalling close to 1.5million, and although I feel she will gain the most nominations over these next few weeks, I have no doubt the happy-go-lucky Geordie will be there fighting for the crown in the final."
The house was still warm from BB2013 when the celebrities first entered on Thursday night (I use the term celebrity rather loosely). We had a host of characters revealed to us, some entered as a shock, others were rumoured to be entering for weeks, but guaranteed over these next 22 days we will see it all!
From threats to leave, to accusations of game playing (on a game show), to fights and all-out bitching. As the dust of opening night settles and they forget they are being filmed, real personalities will start to shine.
First to step through those famous doors was Louie Spence. The camp drama queen has also climbed his way to the top of the betting, currently leading the way at 4.03/1. On opening night, he was chosen along with model Sophie Anderton (41.040/1) and transvestite Lauren Harries (11.010/1) to join a secret room and become a part of 'The cult of celebrity'.
This gave them special privileges and guaranteed them immunity from the first eviction. They were also secretly given the task of selecting candidates for the first eviction, and first to be selected was Big Ron Atikinson (17.016/1).
Twists and turns and surprise nominations are never far away on Big Brother and I believe there is some real value in the Winner market. Geordie Shore's Charlotte-Letitia Crosby (5.04/1) made a real impression on opening night, gaining the biggest cheers from the live audience and causing a stir amongst the media for her partying ways.
So far this series she has captured the most air time from Channel 5 and has been the most talked about contestant in the diary room. She has the most followers on Twitter totalling close to 1.5million, and although I feel she will gain the most nominations over these next few weeks, I have no doubt the happy-go-lucky Geordie will be there fighting for the crown in the final.
A dark horse could be Abz Love (21.020/1) from the boy band Five. He is very quiet, therefore will avoid nominations, and frequently we see on Big Brother the quieter characters making the final. I feel he has an each-way chance.
Other contestants include Bruce Jones (41.040/1) and Vicky Entwistle (19.018/1) better known as Les and Janice Battersby from Coronation Street. Carol McGiffin (5.04/1) from ITV's Loose Women, Danielle Marr (67.066/1) from a reality show I have never heard of called Dublin Wives. An American girl called Courtney Stodden (11.010/1) who's only claim to fame is marrying an actor when she was just 16, along with TOWIE's Mario Falcone (12.011/1) (yawn).
Perhaps the most interesting contestant this year is actor Dustin Diamond (11.010/1) better known as Screech from popular TV show Saved by the Bell. Only time will tell if he turns out to be as entertaining as his character was!
To summarise, Charlotte will be up for eviction every time there is nominations, but she is very likely to survive, Abz will probably make the final having not gained a single nomination, and at least one celebrity will leave via the back door (I predict Ron before he gets pushed!).
