42-year-old doorman Neil Fullard will be hoping to catch the public’s imagination tonight in the second semi final of Britain’s Got Talent

"The Betfair markets are usually right when it comes to Britain’s Got Talent so one of the three acts I’ve already mentioned is very likely to win, but I’ll be having a small wager on Neil Fullard in both the Semi Final 2 Winner market and in the To Qualify market at [9.0] and [4.0] respectively."

The second semi-final of Britain's Got Talent is on Mike Norman's mind this morning, and he believes that a 42-year-old doorman could steal the show tonight.

Spellbound and Tobias Mead were the two acts that made it through from last night's first semi-final but I can't help but feel that the show conjured up more questions than it did answers, like why did members of Spellbound dye their hair grey (females) and copper (males)? Why did Olivia Archbald sing THAT song? And what planet is Amanda Holden on at the moment?

Dance troupe Spellbound are now the clear [2.32] favourites to win Saturday's live final and I'm not disputing that they are fantastic at what they do, but their act doesn't get me on the edge of my seat like others do and I think come the weekend they will definitely be worth opposing.

My reference to Amanda Holden was because of her reasoning behind saving Tobias - who is now available to back at [15.0] in the Winner market - when it came to the three judges choosing between him and singer Olivia. Holden said that Tobias brings something new to the show! Well actually Amanda, he is a street dancer whose routine involves dancing on poles, body-popping, and doing strange head movements, in a very similar way to previous winner George Sampson.

Tonight's second semi will see the current second favourites to win the show - Connected ([12.0]) - strut their stuff in front of the watching nation. I'm not a huge fan of them either, but you just know that these five young Geordie lads, probably singing a popular ballad, will get the votes. Connected are available to back at [2.12] to win tonight and at [1.45] in the To Qualify market.

Main opposition to Connected is expected to come from comedy entertainer Kev Orkian ([3.5] to win tonight) and animal act Tina and Chandi ([5.5]) - but as I've alluded to previously, I have doubts regarding their participation in the competition. To me, Britain's Got Talent is all about providing a platform for undiscovered talent, and allowing a virtual unknown become an overnight success - Paul Potts, Susan Boyle, George Sampson, Diversity for example. It shouldn't be about letting acts that have enjoyed success in other shows try to steal the BGT prize with old material.

And if you weren't aware, what I mean by what I've just said is that Kev Orkian won a show called The Next Big Thing in 2009 doing the exact same act as he'll be doing tonight (pretending to be an Armenian piano player), whilst Tina and Chandi have enjoyed huge success at Crufts doing the same routine as you'll see this evening.

The Betfair markets are usually right when it comes to Britain's Got Talent so one of the three acts I've already mentioned is very likely to win, but I'll be having a small wager on Neil Fullard in both the semi-final 2 winner market and in the To Qualify market at [9.0] and [4.0] respectively. Fullard is a 42-year-old doorman who sang Come Fly With Me at his audition. He will get the full treatment tonight, the tuxedo, the big band etc, and I think that could bring out the improvement needed to progress from a really tight semi final.

Also look out for Michael Fayombo Sr and Jr, a Michael Jackson dance tribute act who wowed the audience at their auditions. They are available to back at [9.0] in the To Qualify market and could well surprise.
