Street-omedy act Twist and Pulse are strong favourites tonight to progress to Saturday' BGT final

"Twist and Pulse are just [2.02] to win this evening, but barring an extraordinary performance from another act, this should be a safe bet."

After selecting Paul Burling to win last night, Mike Norman is back to give his thoughts on who will progress from tonight's fourth Britain's Got Talent semi final.

After two relatively low-key semi finals Britain's Got Talent burst into action last night with a high quality heat from which at least five acts would have been good enough to go through on any of the two previous nights.

Chloe Hickinbottom, Peridot and The Arrangement all performed well and must count themselves unlucky to have been in such a strong semi final. But it was my selection Paul Burling - now available to back at [7.6] to win Saturday's final - that won the public vote, whilst singer Christopher Stone ([36.0]) was put through ahead of Peridot when it came to the choice of the three judges.

I was a bit wary of Burling doing his Harry Hill impression again, but it worked spectacularly because of his brilliant impressions of other characters within his 'TV Burp' routine. He is a strong candidate to go all the way in the hope that the public vote for variety entertainment rather than the usual singer/dance act that has won in all of the previous years.

Tonight's penultimate semi final sees my favourite act of the auditions - Twist and Pulse - take to the stage hoping to dance their way into Saturday's live final. They call their style street-omedy (a mix between street dance and comedy) which, unlike street dancer Tobias Mead, does bring something new to Britain's Got Talent. Their routine is slick, entertaining, and extremely uplifting, the type of act that can't fail to bring a smile to your face. Twist and Pulse are just [2.02] to win this evening, but barring an extraordinary performance from another act, this should be a safe bet.

One person that has the potential to do something extraordinary is 9-year-old street dancer Tyler Patterson ([6.2]). Young Tyler is very much in the mould of his hero George Sampson, and for one so young, has incredible confidence and self-belief. I sincerely hope he does well and wouldn't put anyone off backing him at [2.5] in the To Qualify market.

Tyler's main competition tonight is likely to come from a singer very much at the opposite end of the age scale, 81-year-old Janey Cutler.

Janey is [3.7] to win tonight and just [1.85] to qualify, but I'm afraid to say I don't think she is very good. She's good for her age yes, but in terms of being good enough to win the competition then I just can't see it - but you never know how the British public will vote. They are likely to warm to her tonight, and both she and Tyler should be the two acts that go to the judges vote; and if that's the case then I just fancy the youngster to get the nod.
