Big wins for New Zealand and England set up a semi-final showdown next Saturday while South Africa and Wales will contest the other semi-final on Sunday...

"That emphatic performance has made New Zealand the 1.84/5 favourites to lift the Webb Ellis Cup, while England are third favourites at 6.05/1. The pair will meet at 9am next Saturday (October 26)."

England will play New Zealand for a place in the 2019 Rugby World Cup final following the first two quarter-finals today.

Both teams won impressively with England beginning the day with a 40-16 dismissal of Australia while the All Blacks swept Ireland aside in a 46-14 mauling in what was the final game of the Joe Schmidt era for the losers.

That emphatic performance has made New Zealand the 1.84/5 favourites to lift the Webb Ellis Cup, while England are third favourites at 6.05/1. The pair will meet at 9am next Saturday (October 26) with New Zealand 1.444/9 to win and England 3.55.

While New Zealand - who are chasing a third consecutive tournament win - went off around 1.232/9 to beat Ireland it was not expected to be so one-sided and one punter was able to back the All Blacks at 5.04/1 to beat the -23.5 point handicap. Meanwhile, England never went above 1.68/13 in-play on the Betfair Exchange.

Wales underdogs to beat South Africa

And Sunday's semi-final will put South Africa against Wales after the two favourites came through their last eight fixtures against Japan and France.

They did it in differing styles, however, with South Africa comfortably getting the better of tournament hosts Japan in 26-3 victory but Wales made to sweat by France in a 20-19 epic.

That game hinged on a red card for France's Sebastien Vahaamahina early in the second-half with his side leading 19-10.

Wales took their time to make his absence count, scoring the go-ahead try and conversion with just minutes left on the clock.

Warren Gatland's side are 3.259/4 outsiders to win the semi-final, South Africa are 1.444/9.

South Africa are 4.47/2 to win the tournament and Wales are 11.521/2.
