After a slow start, the Lions' season is starting to take shape. A comprehensive win over the Stormers was followed by a demolition of the Waratahs last week, in which the South African outfit kept an unlikely 'clean sheet'.

The Reds were thrashed by the Chiefs last week and it could have been a lot worse, had Damien McKenzie stayed on the field. They've been defeated by more than 13 points in their last three games, arguably against far weaker opposition than the Lions.

Their pack seem incapable of slowing down opposition ball which should be trouble given the quality of the Lions' backline. Watch out for the world class half-backs, Faf de Klerk and Elton Jantjies, who will be running the show from 9 and 10.
