The end of the 2019 season can't come quick enough for the Leeds Rhinos but they are seeing it out in good form and are worth backing with a two-point start from St Helens on Thursday.

The eight-time Super League Champions are four points clear of London Broncos at the foot of the table after big wins over Huddersfield and Catalans this month, scoring 92 points and conceding just one try over the two games, and are now 33/1 with the Sportsbook to be playing in the Championship in 2020. They were very impressive playing for long periods with just twelve men against the Dragons last week.

St Helens have the League Leaders' Shield in the bag and notched up a third win of the year over their closest pursuers and Challenge Cup Final opponents Warrington Wolves with a comfortable 30-12 success last week. With Wembley on the horizon coach Justin Holbrook has once again gone without top points-scorer Lachlan Coote and captain James Roby and it's tricky to predict their starting thirteen.

This fixture has often been a close one in recent times, with six of the last eight meetings decided by less than a converted try, including the last three at Headingley. St Helens three defeats this season have all come on the road, twice at London when resting players, and in France, and they may not have an easy night against their resurgent hosts.

Back Leeds on the handicap and the margin of victory for either side to be eight or less.

Classy Warriors to fire a warning to the Wolves

Much like the Leeds Rhinos, the Wigan Warriors could be facing the other Challenge Cup finalists Warrington at a good time and Adrian Lam's in-form side can cover the handicap again at home in Friday's match on the box.

The reigning Champions made it nine wins in ten games with a professional display over a battling Hull KR at the DW Stadium last week, turning on the style in the second half to prevail 36-18. This is the first time they've met the Wolves at home this season having beaten them in both games at Wigan last season.

It's a repeat of the Grand Final, which the hosts won 12-4, and although it's 3-0 to the Wolves in the fixture in 2019 Steve Price's side have lost plenty of their bite of late and have won just two of their last seven, conceding 30 points to Catalans and St Helens the last twice.

They've sat in second in the Super League table since the middle of April but now have both Hull and Wigan breathing down their necks for that crucial spot and you can forgive them for having one eye on Wembley as they bid to right last year's defeat against Catalans.

Back the Cherry and Whites to turn on the style again.
