Problems continue to mount for the President and it looks increasingly likely that Donald Trump will be impeached in his first term...

"It's sure to be an uncomfortable time ahead for Donald Trump."

Following the announcement that the House of Representatives will formalise an impeachment inquiry, Donald Trump is [1.36] on the Betfair Exchange to be impeached in his first term

But the controversial President is unlikely to leave the Oval office - he is odds-against at [4.2] not to serve a full term at the White House. That marks a fairly significant low, however, as those odds only very recently stood at [12.0].

The likeliest exit date for Trump is 2021 when the next president enters the White House. Punters who fancy he is in for the long haul and can again upset the odds can get [3.2] that he leaves office in 2025.

Betfair Spokesperson Katie Baylis said: "With the announcement this afternoon that the US House of Representatives has passed a resolution to start formal proceedings with the impeachment inquiry against Trump, the POTUS is now odds-on at [1.36] on Betfair Exchange to be impeached before the next US Presidential Election.

"We've also seen the odds of him leaving office before the end of his first term shorten from [12.0] to [4.2] and while impeachment would not necessarily lead to him being forced out, it's sure to be an uncomfortable time ahead for Donald Trump."
